My time in California so far has been great. I arrived on Thursday and worked with my Coach, Alison, in Los Angeles for a few hours. I got to work with her on Friday as well, just to try and get some things straightened out, especially since I haven’t seen her in 18 months. So that was really awesome. On Friday afternoon, I was able to see my personal trainer. I’ve been back in the gym the last couple of months, but I just felt lost and didn’t have much confidence with what I should have been doing. So she did all the TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) testing to see where my weaknesses were etc so we’ve gone back to basics, and I feel great about it.
I played a practice round on the tournament course on Saturday, and then on Sunday, I had the opportunity to go to the LPGA’s first major of the year, the ANA Inspiration. This was pretty cool and nice to be able to see what it was like out there. The big things that stuck out to me was how many fairways they hit, and how many putts they holed from 8ft and in. It was really cool to be able to see the best in the world competing.
I played another practice round on Monday and spent some time practicing. I’m not in the pro-am this week, which is working well as its giving me time to work on the things my coach and I talked about.
I’m going to work with my coach next week after the tournament. It’ll be great to fine tune some more parts of my game. It'll be especially nice after having competed to go through my stats etc to get a better idea of the areas that need improving.
I want to thank everyone who has donated to my gofundme page as it has been a huge part of me being able to get out here to California. Your help and support has been amazing and I appreciate it very much. So THANK YOU!
Be sure to follow the live scoring this weekend to see how I get on!
